Flyball is a team game for four dogs running in turn over a line of four jumps to and from a box. The flyball box is spring loaded to release a ball upon the box being hit. Most dogs love the speed and excitement of flyball and take easily to striking the box to get the ball. The trick is getting dogs back as fast as they go out for the ball and accurate start/finish line changes.
Our flyball team has yet to compete in tournaments as we need more ball crazy dogs to complete the team. In 2015 we added Scamp to our team of Tay, Faith, and Ozzy. Scamp is going to be a great height dog. A height dog is a very important member of the team because the jump height is fixed to their size so other bigger dogs jump lower. The pictures below show just how the much size difference there can be in a team.
As you can see any size of dog can do flyball and actually the smaller the dog the better because a small dog is a height dog and keeps the jumps low for the whole team
So if you have a ball crazy dog that you think might just be mad enough for flyball. WE NEED YOU for the 2017 season. There is no charge for flyball training so give us a call.
